One sloven legend says that the mountain Tara, because of its numerous and unrepeatable natural beauties, was chosen, to spend his divine life, good God Tar, according to which this mountain got its name (from Sloven mithology).

This amasing mountain is giving something eternal to nature lovers, while at the same time some parts of it will remain an eternal secret. Numerous animals among which are: the bear, roe-deer and chamois have been roaming these wast forests for thousands of years. The symbol of more than a thousand plant species is certainly the Serbian spruce (Picea omorika), which was discovered in 1875 by serbian botanist Josif Pancic. Tara is the only natural environment for this spruce in the world.

While experiencing Heaven on Earth from any of the numerous view points nature lovers and tourists can enjoy the scents of various plants. Mountain Tara is well known as the factory of red blood cells for its refresing properties for healthy, as well as for people suffering from various diseases.

The fact is that mountain Tara is a destiny of a modern man, a destination for active rest and return to the roots in the middle of Europe.
