River Drina is currently one of the cleanest rivers in Europe. It is a real heaven for fishermen from all over Serbia and Europe. Its huge hydro-energy is being exploited by the hydroelectric power plants in Perucac, some 12 kilometres from Bajina Basta. Artificial lake is spreading from Perucac to Visegrad through magnificient kanyon 56km in length. The canyon is the third deepest in the world after river Colorado in USA and river Tara in Montenegro.

Drina is a fast river which is perfect for various water sports such as white water rafting and kayaking. Famous Drina regatte is being held every year in July. It gathers people from all over Serbia and Europe.

Drina's water currents are enriched by more than thirty fish species such as: huchen, sprout, trout, chub, pike, carp and others.
